My first blog post – Hello

My name is Lana, but my children gave me a nickname long time ago, “Loofy,” so that’s my go to name these days.

I am not much of a talker these days, but believe me, I have lots of interesting thoughts circulating in my head all day, and I am excited to invite you all in. P.S. I experience lots of cool things on a daily basis from where I sit that I would like to share with you.

I am living with ALS, and have been for 11 years now, which has rendered me incapacitated. It has taken over every muscle in my body, except my mind and spirit – those still belong to me. In fact, with every physical muscle atrophying, my spirit has grown in strength. I hope through reading my blog you will get to see what has nourished me with life and strength to survive this so-called “illness.”

I am motivated by my love for my family, which is the greatest, strongest fuel for life.

  16. Omg Lana u r such an amazing woman! I haven’t seen u in ages but all thru the years I used to check on u thru Sousou M & Sereene D! My mom had ALS and I just wish she had half your strength & determination to fight the illness the way u fought it,,, Very few r the ones who have your courage, patience & tolerance Lana!
